opening my mind

I spent a week in January at Summer School in Ballarat with Roxanne Lasky, it was mindful and fulfilling experience.

open mind

think about thinking

value silence

finding my pathways ….. in landscape and cross roads …. mapping my thoughts with stitch

And just a a couple of weeks ago I spent 3 days with India Flint on Mount Tamborine “being (t)here” workshop.

Another sublime experience …… more words ….. they now sing in my head

I have never been a wordy soul…. oral yes, and now around me I see and feel words.

I was almost too afraid to attend a “being (t) here” workshop as the idea of poetry , albeit lack of it in my life was going to put me in a scary space.

India has an amazing talent and is an engaging teacher, I have come away from my three days of  freedom to explore with a new spin on my ability to see and hear through new eyes and ears.

and here’s to a productive, creative and fun filled 2017 xx

a wonderful mothers day was had

The trek out to the Lost World Valley early in the morning on our way to Arts in the Olives Festival is always special and yesterday was a full of joy with the misty valleys, hot air balloons and gifts for me  :)

Ula at 13 is a doer and all my gifts from her were hand made.

she also beavered away at this with the help of her Dad

P1070802We all had a stunning day and it was great to connect with so many lovely people.

smitten by the blues

I have been itching to get “blue”…… indigo blue and at last a simple and affordable introduction to the how to’s. Located in Brisbane at a great workspace aptly named Work-Shop, they have outlets in Melbourne and Sydney too.

“Creative Classes for Curious Minds”

So I got my hands blue and loads of other stuff..thanks to teacher Claudia Husband.

jar magic

I have been stuffing jars with silk thread and tissue silk in the Stuff Steep and Store method albeit with less store than some. I leave them on the balcony rail in the sun where they get visited by one of our cats.

This afternoon seemed like the right time to open two jars, one was Coreopsis flower with copper pictured third from the left {above}  and the other Montbretia flowers second from the left which are a weed here. Pictured on my new apron that has been made from an opshop (suspect) silk nightshirt, it has two pockets one especially for my trusty secateurs.
