a little bit of garden

Just a quick walk around ….. the basil is ready for pesto and we cant keep up with the cucumbers…. and the Dahlia reminds me of my Grandfather  …..

next time you join me the blog might look a little different, I am in need of a spruce up and bit of a change :)

We have to cover these beauties very well  ( I use a net from a babies crib ) as all sorts of wild life love to eat  them even the chooks !!!  blueberry pancakes for desert tonight …..:)

to market to market

I have booked into a stall site at a Friday night market on the coast its called the Miami Marketta

I have never been in love with the  early start for regular markets nor the time they eat into our weekends so this may work for me. So if you are around the coast on Friday the 13th come to 23 Hillcrest Parade MIAMI  and visit this hip little precinct, they usually have live music, great food  too.

On the local front…. up the road at Binna Burra Lodge the gift store is being renewed with lots of Local goods… so I have placed a few pieces on consignment.

So I have been a busy little bee….. bundling and stitching.

Triffid Tomatoes

On my lead up to Zest Fest, Open Studio and Shape Shifter with India I have neglected our vege patch…… lucky for me tomatoes are like Triffids I picked 1.3 kg of  red and yellow and pear and round Tomatoes !!! The orchard is also over flowing at this time of year thus the name Zest Fest for our community festival ….. we have Seville Orange, Blood Orange, Mandarins and Limes at the moment ( no scurvy in this house)

Its all happening the citrus is ripening, flowers abound and this is our Winter … why would I live any where else cold enough to sweeten our citrus but warm enough daytime to want to be out side .

Pomegranate Pink and More

Wow ….. how the time fly’s bye looking at the dates and its July already . Since my last short post we  Sal , Mark and I held our Zest Fest at the local school hall .

A great day for all…. lots of networking, great food and music . We have just had a meeting to start the plan for next years…I had a very successful stall that day sold lots and inspired a few to learn to felt .

I discovered Pomegranate Pink in the process of dyeing some scarves  for my market stall . Fab colour and a friend invited me to try Virburnum berries and while collecting them noticed some berries on a dianella grass

( Thanks Sara ) the colour is superb
