smitten by the blues

I have been itching to get “blue”…… indigo blue and at last a simple and affordable introduction to the how to’s. Located in Brisbane at a great workspace aptly named Work-Shop, they have outlets in Melbourne and Sydney too.

“Creative Classes for Curious Minds”

So I got my hands blue and loads of other stuff..thanks to teacher Claudia Husband.

Cas Holmes workshop in Traralgon

Now on day three …… and 3 days is my limit my head is in a spin so much to take in. This Cas Holmes workshop has probably been the most challenging workshop that I have attended, not physically but mentally probing all parts of me.

new year paper play

I am always exploring new ways with the mediums that I use in my arts practice. I did a workshop with Tricia Smout and love some of the ideas she shared with us. The eco dyed paper made into little origami folded books tied up with my silk string .These little beauties will feature at my Stall at Arts in the Olives in May along with origami folded boxes too.

workshop @ mudbrick herb cottage

wow what a joy….. yummy lunch around the table, herbal teas and coffee, gluten free and dairy free food supplied by Sandra the host, and all this lusciousness and relaxing ambiance was included in the workshop I ran for her today. The herb farm sells their plants online @ Mudgeeraba and we had free range of the garden for our ingredients for the sandwiched artist books. Thank you to all as it was a wonderful day.

loving paper play

loving paper play ( thanks EB ) ….. and its such a reward to teach.

The dress that I posted about and was on the catwalk at the Ekka received a third !             I have been very busy with my other job @ Eden Seeds ramping up for spring… thus not much posting.                                                                                                                          Am excited to say that I am attending a two day workshop stitching with Dorthy Caldwell next week ….my time to bliss out and soak it all up .

some paper and test fabrics

I had to drive up to Brisbane to pick up my stock from the Botanique Bazaar @ the Mt Cootha Botanic Gardens this on a Sunday, with my girl is a pleasure… we stop off at the fabric store and have coffee and cake too. The fabric store was having a sale so it was a worth while stop off, came away with a wool/cashmere blend, silk canvas and some of my favorite wool/ silk blend.

Early in August I have been invited to have a display at The Friends of the Botanic Gardens Association symposium being held at the Mecure Resort at the Gold Coast. Thus the extra paper work for cards and frames.

workshop @ beechmont

We had a great  day @ Beechmont on Sunday the weather was kind and Bertha boiled up some wonderful cloth and paper.

The group was diverse which is always a joy as everyone was happy to go with their intuition, and let their creative juices flow. The seed has been sown for a two to three day workshop for a bit more extension on what has already been learned so I will keep you posted on the details.

Then this morning a dash to Mt Cootha Botanic Gardens to deliver stock for this weeks Botanique Bazaar @ the Richard Randell Studio from Teusday15/07/14 to Sunday 20/17/14 and a  big thanks to Bettina Palmer for running this event. While I was there Bettina asked me to supply 3 outfits for the Fashion Parade’s at the Brisbane Ekka ( Queensland’s  largest agricultural show / fair )
