We bundled up wool scarves/ shawls in readiness for winter …..the copper did her bit and the magic of Eucalyptus has discovered
rust new and old
Over the Easter break Jasper and I found a few more railway spikes at the old unused track, and a nest in the sculptural eagle, and the beautiful Red flowering Eucalyptus alas gave very little colour.
Easter Weekend
As a family we went south to Manilla a country town central NSW the males of our tribe fly paragliders…. I get a little room to take a small pot, silk thread and paper.
The weekend also beckons me to visit Nundle where the last of the Australian Wool Mills still produces yarn from scratch with all the old machines.

I have been able to gather some leaves before the owner of this unknown Eucalyptus cuts it back to the ground, lucky for me she re sprouts and this time I have some of the mature shaped leaves. I do get nice colour from these.

we had a nice break away at the beach camping and I got two brews of silk done both with stunning results and some silk twinning too.

This material is one of my first loves and when i started using eucalyptus in my practice the two made the best ever combination.

The wool used here will be made into cushions and table runners, but in the past clothing as well.

I have taken on a commission which I rarely do (they make me nervous) but this is for a new baby so how could I say no.
Because the pot is going to be on anyway, I gathered up a few pieces of my own one needed renewing and the other blouse a nice Op Shop ( thrift store) find.
