In my quest to find out the colour of every eucalyptus in the area that I live in… my samples are bigger an will turn into journal covers for my next market ( Ancient Arts Revival ) I will put a link in the blog roll. The wool is an op shop blanket that I washed in the machine and this time took the time to mordant, using the recipe in Sasha Duerr’s book 8% alum and 7% cream of tarter to the weight of wool. I did some pre stitching yesterday as we had a power out for the morning so I sat in the sun and stitched away ..(thank’s Nadine for the Alabama Studio Style)
Absolutely stunning … =D
Thanks
That is such a beautiful project! So, for the stitching you did beforehand, did it dye, too?
Yes the stitching did colour more so if a leaf was bundled touching it , or it just takes on the surrounding hues, I used silk thread.
